Dude

I got what you were trying to do, but it wont work.

The trick is to set the clock for 6:45am, and then set it for 3:30pm.

however, when ever i got the clock on 3:30 the clock just resets itself.

W. T. F.

Carnick responds:

Use the grey button on the base of the clock. Once at 6:45, and once at 3:30. I'll make this more clear in a future version by making it flash or something.

Next great puzzler!

Seriously, this could be the next tetris, you should market it!
You could even have an EXTRA SUPER CHALENGE MODE where you have diferent shaped buldges or hollows in the bricks, and not only have to make sure that the bricks fall in the right place, plan ahead for next one, and worry about the rising layers of bricks, but now you have to pick the right SHAPE to fit the parts to. Now you can also add parts that CAN'T be sculpted, and these whoud have to be put SOMEWHERE, but they can be a blessing to, because they wouldn't "correct" themselves, instead they "correct" the parts arround them, but at half the loss of score, so it makes up for it.

Man, This game has SO much potential. It could even be developed into a nexgen console puzzle game, with different colors of tile, different shapes, and depth/heighth of the drilling/sculpting mechanisims.

this should be put next to 3D tetris as the most innovative flash title to come allong in a while.

RULE #1 OF ALL FLASH GAMES

DO NOT PUT THE DIRECTIONAL CONTROLS ON THE WSAD KEYS.
Reasons:
A) it's awkward for RIGHT HANDED PEOPLE (I.e., 90% of all humans)
B) the left hand that operates the controls often does so in the mirror immage of the right hand (in other words if you use your right ring finger to move right, and then you sudenly have to use your left hand, your brain makes your left hand perform the same operation to do the same thing- move right with your LEFT ring finger- doesn't work though does it?)
C) the left hand in online gaming natuarly is the fire button hand, not the movment hand. As such, making the controls for movement too close or uneven with the fire buttons makes the game almost unplayable. The N64 controller springs to mind here as a good example of this principle. ( all you PlayStation users know what I'm talking about. ;) )

That's why your game got a failing grade here. It is almost imposible to fight effectivley with your set up. I COULD NOT defeat the blue knight, simply because the controls were to awkward, NOT because it was too hard. A better set up would have used the SZAX keys instead of the WSAD keys. this set up is MUCH more ergonomic and allows for a more intuitive feel.

IiroHolopainen responds:

That's bullshit. Almost all of the right-handed people I know would rather control from WASD. Have you ever played FPS games? We will add customizable controls for our next game though so you don't have to worry about that.

Console worthy

This game would look great as something on the GBA. It's fluidly animated, and the level design is fresh and uncomplcated. The game could use some health upgrades to increase the amount of health you can have, and the controls are a tad clunky (but only just), and I would have liked a mid level reset point, but other than that the game is solid. as the blurb on the front page said "Amazingly Coded."

if you make a second one, I would add stealth elements. Like if you press down twice while on a scaffold or street light you can shoot enemies passing underneath from above. I would also add the ability to climb ropes, and also operate some of the machinery in the levels. The crane in level 4 comes to mind, think of the mayhem you could have caused with that thing! Or perhaps it could have been the basis for a lever code puzzle where levers eather have could have been on or off to make the exit open up, and to get to them you would have to move the crane (holding a very long I beam) to various positions in the level to open new paths. this would have added several minutes to the solution of that level as it could have allowed some enemies to move about more freely if you placed the crane in the wrong position. Perhaps for the sequel :)

Props dude

Like the last guy said. It has promise. A bit of speacial coding for the directional keys would have been nice though. You can code to get the keys to reassign on the fly to match the sprites orientation in case you didn't know. (I wanted to press down to start the race, but it put me in reverse :p) also the sound was choppy, but that happens with wav engine noise files. :/

if you knew it was this buggy...

then WHY THE HELL DID YOU UPLOAD IT.

Seriously, I got the game open and all the little guy would do is bounce up and down infront of his plane.

FIX IT.

:/

I tried it, but I didn't like it. Not you though. It's me. this realy isn't my cup of tea.

However, if i just reveiw on the technical quality, I have no choice but to score high. This was a pretty solid game. I would make ONE SMALL suggestion though, and that is to get the hot keys more tightly grouped. instead of 1,2,Q,E,R,F, you should have had a more ergonomic set up like, "Shift, a, s, z, x, ctrl." one of the biggest problems I see with new flash game makers is the habbit of mapping keys based on the first letter of the function it performs.
Actualy, if you had maped the Flashbang to "w" we woulden be having this conversation.

Still, premo flash game.

It was cute

But the "meh" factor set in fast with this one. The little trick he does with the fishing pole actualy made it easier to do this.

You had issues

I kept getting condoms randomly generateing in bottlenecks. This problem should be fixed. It is preventing the game from being beatable.

I loved it but...

I couldent finish it...Actualy it is better to say I CAN'T finish it. After I make it to the health power up in the first area that is gotten via the teleport in the botomless pit area, the game slows down, and the screens take forever to load. Pehaps Flash is not something that this game can evolve in. :/ I'd consider downloading a free or Shareware version of this if you decide to make a Trapped 6. :) (and it would mean that you could overhaul the graphics too)

My suggestions for the next one would be to have the music change automaticaly inbetween areas. (like the large seperate area could have been one tune, the water area could be another, etc...) I didn't get the fouth power up, but maybe a sheild also. You could also try changing the setting a bit. Like say, put the first part in a dungeon, then after you get out of there, you will have to find your way back to civilization through an open air temple, or a desert. Projectile weapons would be nice too. Perhaps the ability to set multiple bombs (you could set it up so you lay them with one key and explode them with another, but you can only set three or four at a time). With the ability to set multiple bombs you could bake more complex puzzles, or give the player the ability to set traps for more difficult enemies.
