Eye candy wins over substance AGAIN!

You have a very pretty game sir. And not much else. I found that even on LOW quality my inputs had a considderable lag time, espescialy when I was trying to proform combined actions (I.e. jumping and running in the same direction) This ment that I couldent actualy get the box on level 6. Not that i didn't get what you wanted the player to do, and not that it wasent feasable, it just with those glareing controll issues, it became a impossible to perform task. I had to stop pressing left momentarily just so the game would register my jump input, and that small heasitation I HAD to perform prevented me from getting all the momentum possible. Level 3 was equaly maddening as I had to cross my hands to get the mouse and the arrow keys at the same time (having the motion controlls be letter keys would have been a far better way to do this, seeing as down wasn't used)

PLEASE PEOPLE, don't grade on looks alone! Because there are plenty of pretty turds out there, and a good looking piece of crap is still a peice of crap. rate it as such.

That said, Mr Kitaiko, this wasent the worst I've seen, but you could have done better.

You seem to be a minority. Before I submitted this game, I had many of my friends test it and none experienced any lag problems. I find it offensive that you would call my game a "pretty turd" or at least elude to it. I spent a very long time working on this game. I spent a lot of time on concept, level design and most of all the controls. I was certainly not trying to 'fool' anyone into thinking this was a good game.

Pointless

Nothing but Eye candy. But it think that means it more of an art peice which is what you were going for. So you succeded.

Refreshing twist

This an interesting reversal of the tired old "defend your castle" geanre. You managed to make a RTS, and that alone deserves kudos.

however, that said, there is room for improvement here. Like many have said, your choice for hot keys was...well to be blunt, stupid. Fortunatly that was the only "dumb" thing you did here. I would have liked to have seen my troops carry over from one mission to the next, thus giving me a varitable LEAGION OF CASTLE CRUSHING DOOOOOM-oom-oom!!!!!...after a while. Another thing you could have done here, is set up a castle of your own where you can see all your little bees (troops) going about their happy little business, training, reserching, and whatnot, in between missions. Better yet, you could have the ability to take over a castle, this could add more depth an meaning to the game as then you could have a crude map, where you could chose the castles you want to take over.

I keep refraining from saying the obvios next step here, and that would be having missions where you blend this new take with the old, and then produce a very simple (but infinetly mor fun) true RTS. Franted it wouldent have resource management, but then, I alwas foun that that takes avay from the point of those types of games and in the long run just ends up destracting you.

Solid Game

Unfortunaetly not a stellar performance.
The music became repeditive, and the attack animations had to many frames. (Common mistake, don't feel bad) I would suggest cutting them back...(unless the problem was slow down on my end)...To about 3 or 4 frames. I would have liked more buttons to perform attacks with. I set mine to Z and Shift for my personal best results but having A be left punch, S be right punch, Z be left kick, X be right kick, and shift be jump, you would have made for a much deeper game play. This would have allowed you to perform better combos. (I know, you would then have to make more animations, but truly great flashes sometimes take literaly months to complete)

Some simple combo ideas for version 2:
X or Z + Shift = Jump kick
Left or right, down + Z or X = Spinning sweep
Down (hold) + Shift, shift, shift... = Charge (for more pwerful attacks)
Up + Z or X = High kick (A or S for High punch)
Down + Z or X = Crouching kick (A or S for Crouching punch)

Of course there are hundreds of combonations, but adding just those moves would seriously make this game stellar! :)

This is the best thing ever. Seriously. I totaly agree with that one guy who says this should be a videogame. Man, If this was out for the PSP, This would be a best seller bar none. Or the DS, where you could have the top screen be the top down veiw, and the bottom screen be some other veiws to make it easier, or stats!

This game had me really planning where I had to put what! I reccomend this whole heartedly to any one who actualy beat level 20 in the old NES version of Tetris! This will bend your MIND. My head still hurts! :D

Not impressed. But not bad eather. I do however belive this to be worth a frontpage. just not my cup of tea. (so it's not your fault I don't like this, it's mine) I gave you a 4 anyway, to help you get to frontpage. :)

Minimalistic Fun

This game is not perfect.

::SUGESTIONS::
-I would have liked to have had the abillity to stop on a dime.
-Perhaps, if you had taken more time to do so, you could have had tank upgrades, or be able to buy better handling vehicles.
-Weapons would be nice to use also, like say gunfire would slow the space ship down temporarily.
-Also having terrain to navigate around/through would have added a nice demention to the game that was lacking.
-I know that "[I] am the last hope" and all, but an option to call in a heilocopter squad to occupy/distract the ship for a few moments would have been nice too.
-A suggestion to make it harder could be that in addition to having to collect more weapons, you would have to deal with more/bigger ships.
-While having a wrap-a-round battle feild was nice (and even helped) I think that it would be an idea to implement a mission area; Leave this area and you fail.

Though I found it hard enough as is, i know that there are those (freaks) out there that think that if a game dosen't kill you every 4 seconds it's too easy. (I happen to know someone like that) MY scale is slightly more simple: If i can beat a game then it is easy (realitively speaking) and if I can not then it is hard. I did not beat this game. that doesn't mean i cant, it just means i lost intrest. Perhaps if you take some of my suggestion and use them to improve the game for the next version, then it will keep me interested longer.
