Good peice

If you ever take a 3d animation course, you should remake that in 3d. That there is short film material! :D

I know right, I think that'll make it alot better, but then again, that makes alot of things better. lol

Random is good :3

Bravo!

This was worthy of Sundance!

I have one minor complaint though. The naration was a bit terse. By that I mean it soundes like one long run on sentance. (you would have gotten a 10 for sound had this not been the case.)

Slow down a bit as you are telling the story. Pauses help to give the veiwer a rest, and allow them to absorb the story point, before you continue.

I guess what i'm saying is that the paceing was off.

But in all other respects this was an EXCELENT film.

Powerful

It is a powerful song, though I do like Sting's version better

for those that want know how THAT song ends it goes:

"I woke up this morning; can't belive what I saw,
A hundred million bottles washed up on the shore
It seems I'm not alone in being alone
A hundred milliion castaways, searching for a home"

Machine head obviously panders to the emo set here by ending the song after the second stanza, there buy leaving the protagonist to his fate of lonleyness, and suggesting to the listener (who is supposed to identify with said protagonist) that life sucks and that there is noone who cares.

In the Police version, the concepts of the "island" and the "castaway" are metephors for a loveless man. (no man is an island, however with out love he might as well be.)
I veiw the message as a metephor for placing your name in the personals. I belive that this is what the song is realy about. He has put his "note" (ad) out there, and after a year, he thinks that it was a stupid idea, and pulls the ad. (or quits paying on it, eather works realy). The Ironc part is the final stanza where he suddenly gets reponses to his add from hundreds of like minded people. He then realizes that he has been in good company all along, with people just as lonley and dejected as him. People who long for companionship and togetherness. The message is that if you are paitent and look hard enough you will find people who think and feel the same as you, and who thought that love or life was unattainable. But if only they come together their emotional problems will be solved.

This rubs the emo mentality the wrong way. They WANT things to be bleak and depressing so that they have something to bitch about. This constant complaining is the only way they feel that they can acheive recogittion in a "cookie cutter" scociety. If that aspect of their life is removed then they have nothing to stand on emotionaly, except accepting the world for what it is: Some place that generaly sucks, but since the indevidual is ill equiped to deal with it, must be enjoyed and embraced even if it's completely fucked.
